I worked as a sub contractor for a trucking company out of florida?

he stated I was to make 8% of the load,and I should be paid in about 7-10 after the first load was delivered. It has been 3 weeks and the company owes me 1428.88 and he said he wouldn't pay me what legal recouse do I have and which state do I file a complain with since i live in tx and the company is located in Florida
